A Gift in Your Will or Trust

Your will or trust is the legal record of your wishes for the distribution of your assets. The term bequest refers to the instructions regarding that distribution.

Bequests are the simplest and oldest of all planned gifts. Over our history, bequests have helped Harbor Hospice add services and establish endowment funds.

Just a few sentences in your will or trust is all that is needed. Suggested language to share with your attorney is:

" I, (name), of (city, state, ZIP), give/bequeath to Harbor Hospice (written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property) for its unrestricted use and purpose."

This type of planned giving is simple, flexible, versatile, and it may be a tax-wise step as well. Above all, it is valuable and meaningful to the mission of Harbor Hospice and end of life care.

Please notify Harbor Hospice if you have made a planned gift, or if you would like any additional information.

Wish List:

Some donors prefer to make a specific gift and Harbor Hospice has some specific needs. We call that the Wish List. These items are representative of Wish List items.

Please contact the Development Office if you are interested in purchasing something from the Wish List or to learn what other items are currently on the list.

Items up to $100

Baby Monitors @ $30 each Used by families so they can monitor the patient when in another room.

Tape Recorders for use in taping our patients' life reviews as we begin journaling for their families. It would also be a wonderful keepsake to be able to leave each familiy with a recording of their loved one's voice sharing a story of their history.  Recorders need a downloadable function to transfer voice recording for duplication.  Approximate range $55 - $99.

Items over $100

Pocket Talker - Amplified Personal Headphones @$175 For those patients who have difficulty hearing. The headphones would travel with the nurse to assist communication with the patient.

AeroBed @$199 For the Poppen Hospice Residence so that additional family members who want to stay the nights can do so.
