As a Compassionate Giver
As a Compassionate Giver, your annual gift will have a significant impact when combined with contributions from other members. Compassionate Givers meet four times a year to engage with staff and other members, as well as to learn about program needs, such as new technology or therapies not covered by insurance. In December, Compassionate Givers vote on which project to fund. One hundred percent of the combined funds are awarded to the Harbor Hospice program or capital need that receives the most votes. Since 2019, members have contributed over $260,000 to support Harbor Hospice programs and our mission.

Compassionate Givers is open to anyone wishing to provide focused financial support to Harbor Hospice. We have two membership levels:
- Leadership Donors: Age 40+ and contribute $1,000 annually
- Rising Leaders: Under age 40 and contribute $500 annually
Give in a Way that Works for You
You can choose to make your annual gift in a single payment or spread it out over four quarterly installments. Your annual gift can be made via cash, check, credit card, or appreciated stock. The full amount goes toward the program or capital need chosen by you and fellow Compassionate Givers.
2026 Compassionate Givers
In 2026, Compassionate Givers will be voting between three programs within our Circle of Care. These three programs include massage and reiki therapy, music therapy and art therapy. All of these complimentary therapies are provided to patients free of charge, and since they are not reimbursable it is up to the Harbor Hospice Foundation to raise funds for these programs.

2025 Compassionate Givers Voted to Support a Spa Tub and New Patient Beds!
2025 was a particularly special year as we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence! In honor of this milestone, our focus was on capital needs that will ensure the Poppen Residence remains a welcoming home with seamless maintenance and top-tier equipment, allowing us to continue providing the best residential hospice care in our community. Our Compassionate Givers voted in December to support a new spa tub and patient beds, to help upgrade our aging equipment and provide a better sense of calm for our patients.
2024 Compassionate Givers Voted to Support Palliative Care!
At our final meeting of 2024, Compassionate Givers voted to support palliative care! Their collective giving raised an incredible $44,000 to help cover essential team care costs that Medicare and insurers do not reimburse, ensuring this vital program continues to bring comfort and relief to those who need it most.
