Harbor Hospice Foundation Reaches $1 Million Fundraising Goal for Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence
MUSKEGON, Mich. — The Harbor Hospice Foundation is proud to announce it has officially exceeded its $1 million fundraising goal in support of the Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence, a milestone made possible by the generosity of donors, community partners, and supporters.
The campaign was launched to cover projected costs, ensuring the seamless maintenance of the Poppen and that the equipment is always in top working order. Paying attention to details before serious needs arise is just one way we ensure we provide the best residential hospice care.
“For more than two decades Harbor Hospice has been honored to offer a peaceful, welcoming environment for our patients and their families at the end-of-life,” said Susan Houseman, Harbor Hospice CEO. “Through the extraordinary generosity of our community, we can ensure that this special residence is available to all who need it – now and for years to come. This support enables us to upgrade environmental and clinical equipment, so we are able to provide the very best for those we serve”.
The Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence has been a cornerstone of compassionate care in the region for 20 years, offering patients a peaceful environment surrounded by skilled clinical teams, emotional support, and dignity at the end of life. As needs for inpatient hospice care continue to grow, the completed fundraising campaign ensures the residence can remain a sustainable and welcoming place.
“This milestone represents more than a dollar amount; it represents the collective commitment of our community to care for one another during life’s most vulnerable moments,” said Ammy Seymour, Director of Development and Communications for the Harbor Hospice Foundation. “We are deeply grateful to every donor who believed in this vision and helped make it a reality.”
The Harbor Hospice Foundation extends a heartfelt thanks to its donors, volunteers, staff, and advocates who contributed to reaching this goal. While the campaign has reached its target, community support remains vital to sustaining palliative and hospice care services throughout West Michigan.
