Harbor Hospice Foundation is honored to announce we have exceeded our $1 million fundraising goal in support of the Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence. This achievement is a testament to the compassion, generosity, and unwavering support of our community.
From individual donors, families, businesses, staff, volunteers, and longtime advocates – every gift and shared story played a vital role in making this moment possible.
A Home Built on Compassion
The Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence is more than a building. It is a place of peace, dignity, and comfort where patients receive expert, compassionate care and families find support during one of life’s most tender moments.
“Our family is so grateful for the compassionate care and support not only my uncle received as a patient, but also to our immediate and extended family. The Poppen is such a warm, welcoming environment, we could not have asked for a better place for him to spend his final days.” – Poppen Donor.
The funds raised through this campaign will support critical upgrades, sustainability improvements, and long-term operational needs of the Poppen Residence. These investments ensure that Harbor Hospice can continue providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a home-like environment, now and for generations to come.
A Community Effort with Lasting Impact
Reaching this goal was not the work of one person, it was the result of a community coming together with a shared belief: that everyone deserves dignity, comfort, and compassionate care at the end of life.
We are humbled by the trust placed in Harbor Hospice Foundation and inspired by the stories shared by families who know firsthand the difference hospice care can make. Your generosity directly impacts patients and loved ones during some of their most meaningful moments.
Looking Ahead with Gratitude
While this campaign has reached its goal, the need for community support is critical. Palliative and hospice care rely on generosity to continue expanding services, maintaining the Poppen, and supporting our West Michigan families during their end of life journey.
