Reducing stress and improving relaxation
Exploring the benefits of energy healing
Comforting a Patient’s Body and Spirit
Reiki therapy supports the whole person physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually without the need for physical touch. It is used to relieve stress, increase energy, relax muscles, lower blood pressure and decrease pain. Reiki practitioners use various hand positions a few inches above the body or light touches to improve the flow of energy through the body to create feelings of peace, security and well-being.
Providing Reiki Therapy for Hospice Patients
Our certified Reiki Therapists provide care to any of our Hospice patients who qualify, free of charge. Reiki is not a medical treatment, and does not replace medications or hospice care. Instead, it is offered as a supportive therapy to help ease stress, discomfort and emotional distress.
Sessions are quiet, peaceful, and tailored to the patient’s comfort and preferences. There is no pressure, manipulation, or massage. Reiki does not require any specific belief system or religious practice. Many simply view it as as a relaxing and comforting experience.
