October 23-29, we celebrate Spiritual Care professionals across the globe!
It is a time to honor these compassionate spiritual care professionals here providing support in keeping with the patient’s faith or belief system and practice. The role of Spiritual Caregivers was exemplified during the COVID 19 pandemic! The national theme this year is Relevant and Responsive in Times of Crises.
Our spiritual care team (chaplains) is responsible for the provision of spiritual care services to patients/families/caregivers of Harbor Hospice. If the patient does not have a spiritual care provider and wishes one, the hospice chaplain is available to visit or assist in locating a cleric of their choice. The chaplain is also available to support clerics in meeting the needs of patients.
We love our Chaplains. Thank you for all you do every day!
DID YOU KNOW?
The first Pastoral Care Week was held in October 1985. Since then it has grown beyond national to international proportions. The celebration of Spiritual Care Week provides an opportunity for chaplains and pastoral care counselors, educators and providers to share their story and to celebrate various ministries.
