Our 14th Annual Harbor Hospice Regatta race raising funds and awareness for the Harbor Hospice Foundation was held Wednesday evening, August 11. Although the weather posed some challenges, this fundraiser was a success!

2021 Recap
Thank you to all club members and families who joined us, Muskegon Yacht Club, and race/event committees!

Wednesday, August 11, 2021, twenty-four boats, sunny skies, moderate winds (then sudden storm), and sailors that believe in a mission sailed in the 13th Annual Harbor Hospice Regatta!

Since this exciting competition was created 14 years ago, more than $400,000 has been raised, helping fund everything from Camp Courage to the purchase of comfy sofa-sleepers in patient rooms at the Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence. Those funds also help assure that we can provide care to anyone who needs it regardless of their ability to pay. In 2021 the event raised over $18,000 to help offset the cost of supplies necessary to keep our patients, staff and volunteers connected and protected in the face of COVID-19.

As part of a new tradition, Jon Ledsworth was given the Hospice Hero award during the evening events.  A Hospice Hero is an individual who raise funds or awareness for Harbor Hospice.  They demonstrate considerable commitment in terms of time, amount of responsibility assumed, and longevity. Jon helps make this major race – this significant event – possible!!
