Our Hospice Registered Dietitian Nutritionist provides technical, educational and consultative services in the field of nutrition, this includes nutritional assessments of patients in collaboration with our nursing team at the Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence in Fruitport, Michigan, and home care. Dietary counseling, according to patient plan of care and provides appropriate nutritional intake as the patient’s condition progresses.

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day, celebrated each year on the second Wednesday in March, was created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to increase the awareness of registered dietitian nutritionists as the indispensable providers of food and nutrition services. This occasion also serves to recognize both RDNs and nutrition and dietetic technicians, registered for their commitment to helping people enjoy healthy lives.
